Henry Kuck Bio
Henry Kuck was a professional handicapper, the author of thousands of
newspaper and magazine articles, two paperback books on handicapping,
and Winner's File, The Logic Behind
Successful Handicapping, published in hardcover by William
Morrow and Company, New York. He created Henry Kuck
Ratings, speed, pace and class figures for all major race
tracks in North America. His method of deriving the unique accuracy of
his figures is still acclaimed by owners, trainers, agents,
professional handicappers, and plain lovers of the game. Subscribers
to his service remember him as always available for conversation and
advice about handicapping. With his wife Sandra, he founded Woodside
Associates in 1978. The company published Henry Kuck Ratings and books
and statistics covering thoroughbred handicapping.
Born in New York City, he attended Stuyvesant High School and
graduated from Queens College. Henry Kuck died in 1998 at the age of
57.
